It’s all about the brain
– and it is for everybody

The new iconic building will connect directly with the existing somatic and psychiatric campus facilities at Aarhus University Hospital. The building will be the framework for creating new groundbreaking diagnostics and treatment in the diseases of the brain.

On the ground floor of the building, patients, students and guests access the building leading to the large open atrium at the center of the building that contains an experience centre – an interactive public exhibition and presentation area. Visitors can learn about human and artificial Intelligence, discover what our amazing brain is capable of, and learn about brain disorders and their treatments.

Our new brain research center is for everybody. In other words, we wish to open the doors for all who are interested in the latest research, treatments and improvement of life quality for patients with disorders in the brain.

Danish Neuroscience Centre will contribute to expand the unique research environment between Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital and attract international researchers who can continue developing and offering the best treatment for patients with brain diseases.

The project proposal is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group in collaboration with the Danish Neuroscience Centre and will be a unique landmark for Danish and international brain research.
