WE WANT TO ESTABLISH A NEW BRAIN RESEARCH CENTRE FOR RESEARCHERS, PATIENTS, RELATIVES AND STAKEHOLDERS

Aarhus University Hospital and Aarhus University are known for their world-class research in the most complex, efficient and adaptive organ in our body — the brain. The Danish Neuroscience Centre will combine these research activities the fields of psychiatry and neurology under one roof in an iconic building designed by Bjarke Ingels Group.

BJARKE INGELS AND THE DANISH NEUROSCIENCE CENTRE PRESENT THE VISIONS BEHIND THE NEW BUILDING

A new brain research center

The new building will be open for researchers, patients, industry, and the general public. Its auditoriums, exhibition areas, play & learning labs will enable research, knowledge dissemination, innovation and outreach activities and become a hub for start-ups, patient organizations and other collaborators.

OUR VISIONS AND AMBITIONS FOR THE DANISH NEUROSCIENCE CENTRE

The project will stand as the first of its kind, as it combines both science and treatment of physical and mental brain diseases, spinal cord, and nervous systems. Besides expediting ongoing close collaboration between researchers and healthcare professionals, the new building will be a center of excellence, disseminating knowledge in general. We wish to promote dialogue and convey advances in knowledge of our amazing brain, thereby helping to reduce the stigma that is often associated with mental disorders.
